Watermelon Tour

The kids and I, and my good friend Andrea and her little boy, Aaron took a trip to Tanaka Farms today. It is watermelon season so we each got a small watermelon at the end of the tour. We tried (all fresh and grown on their property) corn, green beans, tomatoes, zucchini, onions (which Blake tried and ate) cucumbers, carrots, cantoulope, yellow watermelon, and of course red watermelon. I highly recommend going before lunch so the kids are hungry and willing to eat everything. We did the 11am tour and it was perfect. What a fun day!!!

Happy 4th of July!

The 4th of July is a favorite holiday of mine - especially since moving from this great country! This is one day where everyone truly respects eachother and thinks about what it means to be an American. I am so proud to be an American! It was also the 1st 4th of July that we have spent together as a family. Danny always played on the 4th or was in Denmark. I love watching the Fireworks and hearing the very patriotic music.

We went to a friends block party that was so fun! The street was blocked off so the kids could run, everyone was outside and each home had a specialty - face painting, balloon man, snow cones, water balloons, and even a train ride!

Danny leaves tomorrow so it was our last day together as a family. We will miss you babe!!

Camping Trip

Danny took the kids camping for their 1st time. (I stayed home and got a ton done - it was fabulous!) From the reports, they had a ton of fun and can't wait to go back again. My report is that they were DIRTY!

Swim Lessons

The kids are taking swim lessons and doing great! Paige is pretty close to swimming on her own, while Blake is really liking the water. I'm so proud of both of them and glad they are having fun at the same time.

Family of 5. Can it be???

Yes, we are pregnant. We found out May 16th in Denmark that we were expecting. We have been trying so this was a very pleasant surprise! With new technology we were able to find out what we are having. We didn't care either way and are excited to add another child to the family. Both Paige and Blake are very excited - they love to kiss my belly, tell the baby goodnight, and ask often if the baby is coming out today. Boy, do I have a long 7 months ahead of me.

Blake's 3rd Bday!

Blake turned 3 on June 27th. We had a great party with some close friends, enjoyed the sun, and celebrated in style - miniature golf for the 1st time, pinata fun, and hide 'n' seek with his presents. We kept asking what he wanted for his bday and all he would tell us was a blue birthday cake.

Blake is turning into such a big, fun, loving boy. He loves doing what Paige does but also can be very independent. When he knows what he wants, it is hard to get him to change his mind. He makes us laugh everyday and is my cuddle bug. Blake has such a sweet look that it is hard to say NO to him. He adores animals, loves the water, is very sensitive, and is getting pretty good at dribbling a soccer ball. Danny is so proud!

Happy Birthday Blake!! We love you very much!

Arrive in California

We left Aalborg, Denmark on May 22nd, 2008. It was a bitter sweet day. Sad to move from our home, will miss the friends we made in Denmark, and the team we have spent the last (almost) 3 years cheering for.

We arrived safely in California and quickly came accustomed to the sun and outdoor activities. Disneyland was a must!!!
