We get crafty!

This is our laundry room that is going to be transformed into a Princess Craft Room for Paige's birthday party on Saturday. I'm so excited to get to do a girly party - Paige is even more excited. We have Princess Tiara's to decorate, as well as picture frames and canvas wall pictures for their rooms. I have a face painter coming, a Princess Crown game and even put together a Princess Scavenger Hunt. Come back and look at pictures of the big day.

Most of you know that our life in Denmark is the complete opposite of our life in California. We do a lot of art, games, workbooks, reading books, etc.. (inside stuff). So, for Paige's Birthday, I made up BINGO game cards for us to play. Paige and Blake love this game and since Princess is the theme, I cut out pics of the princesses and made game cards. Super cheap, easy (took about an hour), and something small that she will love.

This is hard to see but Blake drew it all by himself... We have a drawing book with steps on how to draw things. I think this truck is great for a 3 year old.

This is Paige's artwork. She is quite the little artist. She told me that "Daddy is on the left, even though he kind of looks like a sunflower". She is in the middle, where a big rain drop is hitting her on the head (it's not a tiara) and Luke is on her right, wearing green because he loves green.

We bought the kids a Puppet Show and they are having a great time with it. Danny and I are even having to get creative and make up scenes.... It's cute to watch them "perform".

I've been tagged

So, I've been tagged by my friend Jenni... I have to tell you 7 random things about myself. I usually don't hide anything so this is going to be hard... and because my family reads this I can't be too dirty. Here goes...
1.) I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to play Roulette. I could sit at the table all night in Vegas and play.
2.) I'm not a huge fan of tattoos... although my husband has a sleeve and is planning on getting another one. I guess the saying is true - Love is Blind!
3.) I absolutely HATE surprises but I absolutely LOVE giving them.
4.) I can't stand politics... and I never vote. (get mad people, get mad!)
5.) I still bite my nails.. and don't know how to stop
6.) I only remember my dreams when I am pregnant (Some times I get lucky and dream about John Travolta or Tim McGraw)
7.) I have a lot of things I want to do when I move home and #1 is taking dancing lessons with Danny

Now, I have to tag 7 friends: Coopers, Alyssa, Amy M, Amy V., Andrea J., Jen S., and Lisa

Conversation with Paige

One of my favorite things about Paige is that when she is going to the bathroom (yes, #2) she loves to talk... tonight we had a very deep conversation..

Paige: Mom, where do babies come from?
Me: Paige, we've told you where they come from
Paige: Oh, the canal
Me: Yes, the canal
Paige: Is that a big hole or something? Do you have a big hole in your vagina?
Me: (seriously, why does she keep talking about this) Well, when the baby is ready to come out, he will come out of a big hole
Paige: Do I have a big hole in my vagina?
Me: Not until you get older and have babies
Paige: When I can have babies?
Me: When you finish college and get married
Paige: I'm going to marry Luke, but don't tell Daddy. He doesn't like that
Me: Yes, I know. Are you done yet?
Paige: How come Daddy has hair on his penis? (note: they went to the pool today while I went to the doctors)
Me: Well, you get hair on your private parts when you go through puberty
Paige: Did you go through puberty?
Me: Yes, everyone goes through puberty
Paige: But, you don't have any hair on your vagina?
Me: (seriously this is not ending) Yes, some people choose to shave, like women shave their legs, men shave there faces
Paige: Why do we have hair there anyways?
Me: To help keep us clean
Paige: Are you dirty then?
Me: (laughing) Not if you shower, take care of yourself, and wash your body well
Paige: Oh. OK.
Me: Finally!!!

Our great week and the terrible bug

Danny played at home this week and Paige and Blake insisted on wearing their jerseys (even though it was 40 degrees out). Blake is so funny and tells me he is going to score a goal tonight. I can't wait to see him play soccer.
This is the wolf that sits outside the stadium. They both love to get on this and howl.

Both Paige and Blake love books but lately Blake has been asking me 3 and 4 times a day to read to him. The favorite this week is Love You Forever. He is such a mama's boy.

My poor Paige-e Poo. I have no idea where she caught it but she has Lice. Yes, the little bugs that live in your hair - Ewwwww! It is so common in Denmark that no one is fazed by it. I remember in elementary school and if someone had it, I don't think anyone talked to them for a week. It's a pain in the ass but I caught it early - only 4 bugs in her hair. She looks so stinkin cute in her towel and has been great with the whole thing.

Can you find my laundry basket?? It's in there, along with every jacket, blanket, towel, comforter, sheet, piece of clothing, carseat cover, etc.. that we own. I think I have done 8 loads today and have about 8 more tomorrow. Fun times people, Fun times!

Date Night with My Fabulous Daughter

I love giving surprises (hate getting them) so I surprised Paige with tickets to the High School Musical on Ice. She was soooooo excited.

It was so cute to see her smiling and dancing, trying to sing along, etc... I love Date Night with the kids and hope I'll be able to continue it once Jude is born. It reminds you how simple life was with only 1 child... and that each child is unique, needs the one on one time and it gets them opening up and you can talk about so much. I had such a great time. I love you Paige.

Side Note: I never planned on my almost 5 year old watching HSM but it was peer pressure... everyone else was doing it, so I had too.. I just had to it. I haven't watched all of it but from what I have seen it's not so bad. Shrek says worse things.

The Light at the End of the Tunnel is Finally Near

Well folks, I made it... almost 2 weeks with Danny being gone and tomorrow is the day he will be home. I was just looking back at my calendar since I arrived, a little over 2 months ago, and realized that I have been here for 1 month ALONE while Danny was away with the US Team. So, this week we did some new things. Paige had a friend over (Alex, 6 years old, from Colorado) and Blake had Riis (almost 4 years old, from Portland) over. We had a movie night and rented The Horton Hears a Who. They were very engrossed in the movie and loved the fact that they each got candy and popcorn. We also went to an indoor train exhibit. Some friends from Aalborg met us so it was nice to go with other people. My expectations were too high (as usual here) but it ended up being a fun day. And, we went on Seniors day so it was fun seeing them trying to talk to the kids... and the kids just staring back at them. I think most of you know that Danny does the cooking too. Needless to say, I am over it. So, the kids and I have been finding whatever we can to eat... luckily they love breakfast for dinner. And because I have been extremely tired around this time, sitting them in front of the TV worked wonders - another big treat! Things will be going back to normal soon... which I am so excited for. We missed you Danny!!!

The Grass is Always Greener on the Other Side

I've heard from a few friends who have said they wished they were a stay at home mom, with no worries, just could be with their kids and not have so many things to do, have to get up and go to work, etc... Well, I am one of those moms and let me tell you that I'd like to switch places with you. ** THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE.
As you know Danny left 5 days ago (which seems like 2 weeks) so the kids and I are having fun finding things to do.

Above are some pics of the things we have done: made a snowman (yes, I know it is 3 months away), made a paper chain for how many days are left until Danny comes home, Paige's bday party, Paige's bday, and our trip home to CA. Paige and I also made her Birthday invitations. She surprised me with her ideas and creativity. She loves art and is very fond of coloring. It was also fun making the invitations because this is a girls only party so we could do a lot of pink, which she was so excited about. Gigi and Gpa Stan also left her a birthday gift which I used for good behavior... she is having fun playing doctor with me and her brother.

**For the record, I love my kids and I love my husband and his career. God has a plan for us, which I am still getting used to.

Jude's Room

Well, his room is 95% complete... I'm happy with it and love the colors - I'm so glad
I didn't go with blue. Blake is very into blue so I wanted to do something different. His
room has a lot of angles so deciding where things should go was a challenge.
I LOVE YOU JUDE and can't wait to hold you!

Holy Cow! I'm huge

My belly is rapidly growing........ Finally got a real ultrasound and I got to see Jude - his toes, fingers, heart, face (looks like he has my nose and lips). I feel much more connected to him when I get to see him. I love having ultrasounds. Jude is starting to be more active, but the placenta is is on top which is why i don't feel him so much.  Paige is really enjoying feeling him and is so cute when she talks to him. I can't wait to see them with him. The room is almost done... stay tuned for pictures.

The Pirate vs The King

Blake chose to get 2 swords and a pirate patch at Legoland. He has been having a great time playing with them. He gets very excited for "Pajama Fight Time" (his words). He gets so excited when he wins - he's very competitive like the rest of us.

Another trip to Legoland

We went to Legoland and I took a girl who is 7 with us. She is an American from Los Angeles. Paige enjoys playing with her and they have a great time.

Paige used her allowance (that she has been saving for months) to get her face painted. Finally she chose something else other than a butterfly. A Lion - pink of course! We had a fun time... even though we got caught in a few rainstorms.

Blake-e Man

Mr. Blake just adores Paige and will pretty much do whatever she says... including dressing up as a girl. He is not going to like these when he is a teenager.... black mail! But, he is so cute!!!!

He also loves helping Danny in the yard. They are identical in so many ways....
