What's KP cooking??

So, I have this friend in Denmark who loves to cook (boy Danny wishes that was me). I think her website is great so I thought I'd post it here if anyone needs some cooking ideas. She's a stay at home mom, living abroad, and is having to get creative.... sometimes we need a new idea for dinner!! (Basically every night for me)

Here it is - http://www.kpcooking.blogspot.com/

Enjoy!

My Paige.. to be that young again

So, Paige started school. Big day! (I'll post pics later) A funny moment from our conversation this morning.

Me: Are you excited for school?
Paige: No, I don't want to go
Me: I loved school. It was so fun.
Paige: I'm shy though mom.
Me: No you are not. You're like me. We're not shy.
Paige: Yes you are. You're shy in the morning when you don't talk to anybody.

Oh, my Paige.. little does she know I am not a morning person and am just mad that I have to be awake instead of in my nice warm bed. I love her and her innocence.

I can't do it anymore

So, Paige and Blake are adjusted to the time change, as am I. Jude on the other hand is not. This is night 5 and he is, like clock work, waking up at midnight. It's getting old and tiring. I don't know what to do anymore. I've kept him awake since 2pm during the day, I've fed him a ton of formula (like 10 ounces within in the hour. He'd probably eat more if I'd let him), he's eating solids and is getting a lot at dinner, giving him lots of playtime before bed, lots of laughs, etc.. to tire him out. Nothing is working!

Nights 1 and 2 - fed him thinking he would go back to sleep. Fat chance. Ate and then played for 2 hours

Night 3 - played first and then fed him after an hour. He was dead in my arms after I fed him so I put him in bed. He woke up. Played for another hour.

Night 4 - fed him and then let him cry for 30 mins (I went in every 10 trying to soothe him)

Tonight at 12:34am - I changed him, gave him just water and am now letting him cry it out (CIO), which is why I am down here. I couldn't take it anymore.

I am doing this for him, me and Danny. Paige and Blake manage to sleep through but I'm exhausted, Danny needs his rest, and frankly so does Jude. I've counted and he's getting 4 hours less than he was in California. That can't be good.

I'm just venting, this is giving me something to do.

I love you Jude and know you have forgiven me when I see that adorable smile in the morning. Please, please, please sleep thru tomorrow night.

I feel like such a bad mom but he's so tired.

We made it... with a little Bruno Too!

Paige and Blake were AMAZING on the flight. Slept almost 9 hours of the 12 hour plane ride. I had to wake them up... so sad :( Jude did well but since he is a tummy sleeper he had a hard time in his carseat. I got exactly 0 hours of sleep and was a zombie once we arrived into Germany.

Waiting for the stroller, I came in contact to Isla Fischer (Confessions of a Shopaholic) and Sacha Baren Cohen (Bruno and Borat) and their little girl Olive. Of course we began talking.. I never said anything about what they did... Olive was in love with Jude. Here comes the moment Isla and Sacha will never forget about the Califf Family.

Me to Olive (she's almost 2) while holding Jude: Do you want a baby brother or sister?
Isla: Yes, she loves babies. Olive, do you want to give the baby a hug? If that's ok of course.
Me: Yes, that's fine. He loves kids.
Blake: (from the window runs over) No, she can't. What about her germs?

Olive breaks into tears from Blake telling her NO. I am laughing hysterically thinking wow, Blake knows me too well, and yes, this is a moment they will re-tell to their friends...

On to our next flight...
